That’s right the rumors you heard were true, Season 8 of Game Of Thrones is coming back officially in 2019, HBO announced on Thursday.

This past summer we were blessed with season 7 while the previous seasons aired regularly during the spring. This time around, the series has yet to drop an exact date for 2019. However, we do know this last season will be the series’ shortest with just six episodes that are said to possibly be over an hour long.

SophieTurner, who plays Sansa Stark, spilled the tea previously to Variety, detailing that production on Season 8 began in October and is set to go on until the middle of 2018. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Even though fans have to wait a little bit longer, the year off will be appreciated. GOT showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are anticipating a series finale that will make television history.
